Got to say I think you might be vastly over estimating netflix uk. Publicity for it seems to have been pretty lacklustre and as good as the instant availability is, once the novelty wears off the selection actually seems pretty poor.
Good fun if it’s free for a month but nothing I’d swap lovefilm for at this point.
Well it has only just started up over here and the selection in the states which has been growing for years is epic.
If, after a year, the expansion of available titles has been minimal then I’ll cancel the service. But right now the ability to watch something when I feel like it, vastly outweighs the three-disc deal I used to have with LoveFilm (which cost a tenner extra).
Also (and my wife mentioned this) if at launch Netflix UK invested heavily in advertising and netted a HUGE wave of trial-users, the servers would slow to a crawl and people would never get past that first month.
Ultimately, lets wait and see. I’ll definitely be talking about them later either way.
